CAROLINA -3.5 v. Philadelphia
Below is a rating of my favorite Newton’s:
Oliva Newton John...let's get physical
Isaac...because gravity, duh
Wayne...for his cameo in National Lampoon’s Vegas Vacation
Any other flavor but Fig...no comment needed
Juice...“Angel in the morning”, I’m a sucker for 80’s soft rock
John...apparently, a Union General in the Civil War. We can getting away with mentioning the Civil War as he played for the good guys
Fig...seriously Nabisco, why Figs?
And this was before Cam insulted all “females” with his comments last week and then offered a half-hearted apology saying he didn’t recognize the beat reporter. Really, Cam her job revolves around spending as much time around the team as possible and attending every Panthers presser. I’d move him further down the list if I could come up with any other Newton’s.
I won’t bore you with a list of my favorite cities, but let’s just say Philly would be very near the end of that list. 100% due to Philly sports fans…they’re the worst. Enough said.
Thursday games are tough. Both teams have key injuries on the offensive line.
For the Eagles, right tackle Lane Johnson is out and that is a huge…6’6” 317 lb. huge. Wentz’s QBR is 24 pts lower in games Johnson doesn’t play. At RB, they are left with the corpse of LeGarrette Blount as Sproles and Smallwood are out. But Wentz keeps making plays. Let’s hope he keeps this up as we are starting him in fantasy.
For the Panthers, center Ryan Kalil is likely out with a neck injury. Initially diagnosed as a concussion and then a “crick” in the neck, Kalil is getting closer to returning. Scary injury to rush back from. Not sure he should, Panthers have rallied to win their last two over two likely playoff teams. without Kalil and Greg Olsen
Picking this game is like choosing between getting punched in the face or kicked in the nuts. I’m covering my nuts and going with the Panthers -3.5
PICK: Panther -3.5
